Hitech Participates in APCO Emerging Technology Forum

Hitech Systems, Inc. and LanguageMAPS, Inc. participated in APCO's Emerging Technology Forum last week.

Hitech Systems, Inc. and LanguageMAPS, Inc. participated in the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International's Emerging Technology Forum (ETF), which took place March 15th and 16th at the Crown Center in Kansas City, MO.

"The ETF was developed to educate attendees on the latest developments in public safety communications and how they can prepare for the changes coming to their comm centers" explained Derek Poarch, Executive Director and CEO of APCO International.

We were extremely excited to participate in the forum. It is important that public safety agencies are aware of, and begin taking advantage of these emerging technologies. These technological advancements can and will help save lives.

Together, Hitech and LanguageMAPS were invited to participate because of their integrated software solution, which won Best App for First Responders in the Vencore, Inc. and IBM First Responder Application Challenge. The solution utilizes both SafetyNet Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software and 1st Minute, a mobile application designed to provide immediate language translation assistance to first responders, public safety operators, and the culturally diverse public who request medical aid in emergency 9-1-1 calls for service and other encounters.

"We were extremely excited to participate in the forum," explained Hitech's representative, Holly Blanks, after the event. "It is important that public safety agencies are aware of, and begin taking advantage of these emerging technologies. These technological advancements can and will help save lives."
